Revolutionize Rainwater Harvesting with the Power of 3D Printing

Updated: Jun 2, 2023

Rainwater harvesting gauge meter is a device that measures the amount of rainwater collected in a rainwater harvesting system. It helps to monitor the water level in the tank and prevent overflow or underflow of water. The traditional materials used for rainwater harvesting gauge meters include plastic, metal, and glass.Traditional materials like plastic and metal may not be durable enough to withstand harsh weather conditions like extreme heat, cold, or heavy rainfall. They may corrode or break easily, leading to inaccurate measurements or malfunctioning of the device.

Being a proud alumni of The national institute of engineering it brings me thrills to think back of projects we had done In collage days for fun. Department of civil was looking for a solution for corrosion gauge . The 3D printing technology allows for the creation of intricate designs and shapes that can enhance the functionality and aesthetics of the gauge. The materials used for 3D printing can be eco-friendly and sustainable, making the gauge an environmentally conscious solution.

The 3D printed rainwater harvesting gauge can be designed to be lightweight, durable, and easy to install. It can have a sleek and modern look that blends well with the surroundings. The gauge can be customized to match the colour and design of the rainwater harvesting system and can have a clear and visible display that shows the water level.

Additionally, 3D printing allows for the creation of complex geometries and shapes, which can improve the accuracy of the measurements. The gauge can also have additional features like sensors and connectivity options, allowing for remote monitoring and data analysis.

Overall, a 3D printed rainwater harvesting gauge can be a cost-effective, sustainable, and visually appealing solution for monitoring the amount of water collected in a rainwater harvesting system.
